They are, of course, but since the Oakland city government is largely incompetent, they aren't making much headway.  And it WON'T help if Deanna Santana goes to Phoenix.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I've been hoping for this kind if shift for ages, as the increased tax base would make it possible for Oakland to afford social programs and great schools and enough police. I know, dream big. :)

Finally, from the article, funny/sad because it's true: Oakland " is already home to a few tech companies, including Pandora and whatever is left of Ask.com". Ouch!
