I saw it too! I was biking home on the Peninsula and had assumed it was some sort of amateur fireworks. It seemed so close.

An article I read this morning mentioned that a rumbling noise isn't uncommon.

I heard it too (didn't see it) and wondered if it was a meteor.

A meteor would be heard through a wide area. Twitter would know about it.
